In the misty heart of an ancient woodland, three tables form a circle of stones that opens a gateway to a soaring realm drawn from Norse and Middle Eastern mythology. There, Cardrasil, the Life Tree, is under siege as a creeping evil gnaws at her roots. She entrusts you with an enchanted deck whose cards are living leaves plucked from her branches. Your mission is to grow stronger, prune and refine your deck, and push back the darkness before the seasons turn and warmth is lost forever.
Aces & Adventures fuses classic poker mechanics with deep deckbuilding and RPG progression. Combat revolves around a unique mix of traditional playing cards and powerful ability cards. The four suits act as mana, spent to activate character abilities, while attacks can be launched with a single high card or escalated into pairs, triples, four-of-a-kind, or full five-card poker hands. The defender must match the number of cards played; if they reveal a stronger hand of the same size, the attacker takes the damage instead. Layer on buffs, debuffs, spells, and synergies to unleash combination strikes of catastrophic power.
Choose from five distinct characters, each with their own library of abilities, traits, and equipment that unlock across 30 levels of advancement. Shape custom decks between runs, upgrade cards to Elite and Legendary potency, and decide whether to favor aggressive poker blitzes, careful mana management, or hybrid strategies. The game offers 13 fully voiced campaigns plus additional content totaling 52 levels of rising challenge, alongside procedurally generated runs and the Invernal Spiral mode—a longer, deck-curating experience inspired by roguelite deckbuilders. Sessions are fast and focused, typically lasting 10–20 minutes, yet the combination of narrative choice, character growth, and endless procedural variety rewards both short play and extended mastery.
