You step into the shoes of Laura “Lorelai” Wood, a young woman trapped in a nightmarish existence. Her life is a fragile balance of fragile hope and crushing hardship—burdened by an abusive, alcoholic stepfather, a passive mother, and the responsibility of caring for her neglected baby half-sister, Bethany. With her first job offering a glimmer of independence, Lorelai dreams of escaping with Bethany to build a better future. Aided—or perhaps manipulated—by the enigmatic Queen of Maggots, Lorelai must fight her way back to the living world to reclaim what was stolen from her.
